Specialized in telecommunications and radiofrequencies, RF Telcom provides solutions to meet specific requirements as well as to carry out turnkey projects.
We offer tailor-made or complete radiofrequency and telecommunication solutions for indoors or limited outdoor areas.
Radiofrequency system design (cellular, Wi-Fi, radiocommunication, IoT, etc.), simulation of their coverage and estimation of their performance.
An example of this type of project is the deployment of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for cellular and public safety (emergency services), for which we can carry out preliminary analysis of the signal strength, determinate the best solution, assess the needs of the various stakeholders and draft the technical elements for requests for quotations or for proposals.
Interference can be caused, for example, by the absorption of the signal into the structure of a building (thickness of the walls, wooden or concrete floors, etc.) or into what it contains (medical equipment, factory machinery, warehouse goods and shelves, etc.). This can result in a degradation of the wireless service, as the radiofrequency waves attenuate or interfere with those of other equipment.
Design of detailed plans and bills of materials for the cabling and installation of the network components – such as access points and switches for Wi-Fi, antennas, repeaters or DAS for LTE/5G – before and after project completion. Radio configuration by the assignation of frequencies, channels and power for the entire wireless system.
Existing IP infrastructure analysis and unified communication architectures design.
Wireless network service evaluation – cellular, Wi-Fi or other – in a building or outside by taking georeferenced measurements (walk test or survey) to establish the signal level (heat map) per floor.
Theoretical or practical analysis signed by an engineer to certify that the level of exposure to radiofrequencies complies with the public safety limits defined by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
The performance of the filters, repeaters (amplifiers), antennas and radios can be measured in order to validate their compliance with the specifications and standards in force.
Providing ad hoc expertise to your project management team for the deployment of wireless infrastructure. For example, by acting as a link between the customer and the various stakeholders (designers, suppliers, installers, operators), we can ensure that the proposed system corresponds to the requirements, and coordinate the use of the infrastructure to avoid interference and maximize its performance.
Technical drafting of calls for tenders for your wired or wireless telecommunications projects.
We also provide end-to-end wireless solutions, such as private Wi-Fi, LTE or 5G networks, starting from the definition of your needs to the realization of the design, including implementation, monitoring and technical support, all thanks to an effective partnership with IT firms, secure cloud computing hosts, installers and specialized contractors.
Distributed Antenna System (DAS): installation of small antennas in different locations in a building to provide cellular or public safety coverage in areas that require it. The number and position of these antennas depend on the existing signal level and the customer’s requirements.
Switch: relay between the Internet provider hardware and wireless access points, other switches or users’ computers. Distributes the Internet by wired connection.
Access point: module allowing wireless devices to access the Internet via Wi-Fi. Consists of a radio (transceiver) and antennas. It provides a connection to the network usually through an Ethernet or fiber cable.
Internet of Things (IoT): system of objects connected to the Internet with the capacity to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. The remote monitoring and control of the air conditioning of a building, the automated management of a factory machinery, the use of milking or harvest robots on a farm are all examples of IoT.
